Director of Community Engagement

Position Summary

The Director of Community Engagement will grow and engage with the public of Palm Beach County by sharing United Way of Palm Beach County's brand experience through volunteer activities, promotional events, and community involvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Develops strategic engagement plan to create and grow United Way of Palm Beach County's brand experiences through volunteer and community experiences
• Leads and supervises the community and volunteer engagement team by managing in-person experiences to enhance public engagement
• Develops and executes strategies for United Way of Palm Beach County's on-location experiences with residents of Palm Beach County to become stakeholders and increase current support for United Way of Palm Beach County
• Seeks and develops engagement opportunities to encourage community growth through participation
• Leads event strategy, planning, and management on location and in the virtual space.
• Leads community involvement as UWPBC ambassador in the community to build partnerships with appropriate Palm Beach County stakeholders and organizations
• Directs and develops customer experience journey within the CRM to ensure best-in-class engagement to grow and retain stakeholders
• Oversees meaningful ways to engage the public year-round, including community events, volunteer opportunities and experiences that reflect United Way's mission
• Develops new ideas and streams of engagement by utilizing new strategies, tools (CRM, other technologies), and community involvement
• Works with cross-functional teams in maintaining a consistent brand ecosystem for stakeholders
• Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
• Assist with UWPBC disaster relief efforts as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Community Development or related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience managing a event, promotion or customer service team
• 3+ years of experience facilitating and growing volunteer groups
• Experience working with a CRM database; i.e. Hubspot, Salesforce, etc.
• Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal and proven public speaking experience
• Ability to facilitate collaboration and productive relationships with diverse individuals, groups, organizations, and community
• Stay current with communication, technology, and social trends
• Flexibility and ability to work on multiple high-priority projects
• Solutions focused with the ability solve problems independently, effectively, and creatively
• Volunteer management experience a plus
• Event coordination experience a plus
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
