Marketing and Events Specialist

Position Summary

The Marketing and Events Specialist will play a pivotal role in furthering United Way of Palm Beach County's brand image and awareness within the community. This candidate will effectively manage social media, promotional, and other marketing activities and is responsible for understanding the needs and documenting the requirements of each project, prioritizing delivery dates, and assisting in the completion of projects. The candidate will also manage the planning and development of fundraising events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Understand the principles of branding and design to create and update marketing collateral as needed
• Assist in the on-time completion and communicate changes to project timelines, scope, and budget when applicable
• Manage the marketing project traffic tool and update projects on a weekly basis
• Schedule and coordinate photoshoots and video projects
• Create and send e-blasts through our email marketing platform
• Create and manage various forms like event registration and donation forms
• Attend United Way of Palm Beach County and community events to capture content
• Execute social media strategies across platforms, including creating engaging content, posting organizational updates, monitoring pages, and tracking and analyzing metrics
• Manage external communication through web, electronic, print, and social media
• Manage membership, volunteer, and fundraising events to meet organizational goals, inspire engagement, and provide high-quality guest experiences
• Provide support for outreach and recognition events as needed
• Assist, as assigned by management, with the organization's disaster response efforts
• Perform other duties as opportunities are presented and/or assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3 years of marketing or event planning experience preferred
• Highly organized and self-motivated
• Ability to work within tight deadlines and adjust to new priorities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Can-do spirit with an aptitude for creative thinking and problem-solving
• Experience working efficiently with internal cross-functional teams as well as external vendors
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with email marketing platforms like Constant Contact, WordPress websites, form builders Gravity Forms, and Canva
